The flavor is pretty smooth, and delicious. It is mostly apple, which reminds me a lot of tart, green, Granny Smith apples. The mint flavor is there, and compliments the apple quite nicely. It’s a smooth, sweet taste of spearmint! I pick up a very faint tone of vanilla underneath it all, but it doesn’t become too bold at any point.

I always loved this flavor in G.4. When it went away I was sad, but I find myself buying the Volt version from time to time to experience that flavor all over again. Opening the can, a sweet aroma of licorice greets you. The black licorice smell is complimented by a little menthol in the background, as well. It’s sweeter than the average pouch, but not overly sweet by any means. The pouches are smaller, and slim in shape. They aren’t super moist, but seem a little dryer than most. They have a soft fit in the lip, and a comfortable feel against the gum.

The flavor of this one is pretty good. I’m usually not a fan of mixing mint/menthol and other flavors, but it works here. There is a subtle cooling sensation in the lip which translates to a freshness in the flavor, but not an overly minty taste. The taste is mostly a sweet, black licorice flavor, but with a dab of menthol in the background. It’s a pretty interesting mix.

The VALØ line is an interesting one. It is said to be an ultra premium line, which I can see when using the pouches. They have a pretty high quality feel to them, and a premium “look”. First, I really like the can design. It’s a pretty sweet look. But, as far as the product itself goes, I wish it was a little stronger. I know, I’m not the target demographic for this one, but it’s a little weaker than I prefer. But for those who don’t need as much nicotine as I do, they may love this one. The taste was quite good though. I like the way they mixed the menthol and licorice, it was actually quite tasty.

Opening the can, you’ll notice the snus has the familiar grind of a Swedish Match loose snus. Taking a pinch, I find it pretty easy to pack, handbake, and put into the lip. The aroma of this one is very much the traditional, classic smell of General! The spicy tobacco base is front and center, and comes through in a bold way. The present aroma of bergamot is there, along with a subtle grassy presence.

In the lip, I find the tobacco to be quite soft, and to have a pretty quick release of flavor. The flavor profile is top notch! The tobacco flavor is present, and it comes through in an earthy way, with a subtle spiciness to it. The bergamot compliments the tobacco base quite well! There is a slight hay-like, grassy presence to the flavor, as well. With this one, some will notice salmiak/lakrits in the flavor profile, but I’ve never noticed it myself. Your experience may vary! The flavor lasts quite a while, usually up to 45-55 minutes.

The nicotine strength is where this one can vary. In total, it is 12mg/g. But that number is pretty arbitrary. It really depends on how big you bake your prilla. Usually I go up to a 2g-3g prilla, but with this one, I couldn’t do that, that would be 24-36mg of nicotine! So, with this one, I stick to a 1g prilla, which gives the full 12mg of nicotine. I find the nicotine strength to be satisfactory, and to delivery in a pleasant way. It feels a little over the strong level, but not too overly strong.

General is a top-notch, top-shelf snus. It is truly one of a kind, and one that exhibits an impeccable attention to detail. General Extra Strong Loose is a great product, with a tremendous flavor. If you like the traditional taste of snus, you’ll enjoy this one.

I’ve always enjoyed this snus. I’m a big General fan though, it’s mostly what I use. When I want a really powerful, flavorful snus, this is one I’ll reach for. General Lös is good on it’s own, don’t get me wrong, but this one just seems to have a more bold flavor, and I really enjoy it. If you like good traditional snus, you’ll enjoy this one.

Opening the can, you’ll notice the familiar smell of Göteborgs Rapé. The aroma of juniper is present, along with a gentle tone of citrus. It’s slightly herbal, and has a little floral sweetness to it. With the portions, you’ll notice they come in the Swedish Match Star Formation. They used to not, but this has been changed recently. I suggest fluffing them, and then they’re ready to go into the lip.

The portion material is slightly dry, but still soft. Under the lip, it’s comfortable, and has a gradual flavor release to it. The taste is top notch. GR has been one of my favorites for about a decade now. In the flavor, the juniper is front and center. Right behind it are herbal and floral notes, along with just a little bit of citrus. The nicotine strength on this one is stronger, yes. But not too strong. It feels just a little above the regular strength level. The flavor lasts quite a while, usually up to an hour!

Göteborgs Rapé is a great snus. It’s one with a unique flavor, but also a flavor you can use all day long. For many, this is the snus they use full time. In the XR range, you’ll find the classic taste of GR, but with a cheaper price tag. This is also the only strong variant of the GR flavor, making it one of a kind!

I love GR. Since 2013, it’s been a snus I use every single day. It’s not one I use full time, it’s one I classify as an “alternative” flavor and use a few of a day. In the strength, it can vary. In total, it is 7.5mg/g. So, if you do a 1g prilla, you get about the regular strength delivery. Usually for me, I like to stick to 2g prillas, sometimes 3g. So, the strength could go up to 15mg if I do a 2g prilla. But, I will say the nicotine release and delivery is satisfactory with this one.

I really like the On! Nicotine Pouches can, they have a different shape than others on the market, and they’re very pocket friendly. Opening up the can, you’ll notice the pouches are in the mini dry format. I personally like to use two of them, but I mostly use regular sized pouches. They are a little dry to the touch, but once under the lip as they encounter saliva they moisten up, and soften up quite a bit.
