In 2016 Swedish Match announced, while celebrating General 150 year old recipe, a new exclusive version of the General snus - General Mackmyra Original, a collaboration with Swedish whiskey manufacturer Mackmyra.

Even though whiskey snus is not new, it's the first time Swedish Match teams up with an existing whiskey brand to combine the two. The result. A snus with a pronounced tobacco taste and clear taste of whiskey.

Surprisingly good

Be it bourbon, rye, or scotch, I love the flavor of whiskey, and this one does not disappoint. It has the perfect balance of flavor and salt. Lasts a while too. For reference, here are snus ratings for my palate:

Whisky!

This version is waaaaay better than the los. I could actually smell the whisky when I opened the can and could taste it in each portion. Not an all day snus, for sure, but very enjoyable. And the nicotine is near 10mg per portion, so it satisfies that craving too.

Not worth it.

The nicotine is just barely there, and the taste/smell is terrible.  I figured that as a scotch drinker I might enjoy this, but nope.  It's certainly not for me.
