Loose snus with dark tobacco taste and notes of Swedish malt whisky. The notes of cedar, dried fruit and exclusive malt whisky together with the dark tobacco taste makes General Mackmyra loose one of its kind. The moist loose snus of grounded tobacco makes it easy to form a prilla for optional size for a quick and strong release of flavor.

General Mackmyra is a result of collaboration between Swedish Match and Swedish whisky manufacturer Mackmyra. The snus was announced in 2016, the same year as the celebration of General 150 year old recipe.

The combination of the classic General taste together with exclusive Swedish malt whisky makes General Mackmyra loose rather unique.

Good taste, but not too much whiskey flavor

The tobacco base on this one is good. Larger cut than the usual finer cut of snus so it stays in the lip well. I was expecting more of a whiskey taste, but i couldnt really taste it. Dont get me wrong, this is a tasty snus, but its mostly tobacco centric with a light note of maltiness.

Expected More

Upon opening the can, the smell of whiskey is first with tobacco underneath. In my experience, that was about it for the whiskey. The flavor was slightly sweeter at first but gives under the taste of tobacco; slightly smokey and earthy, a medium rich.

very good.

Has all the good flavors of tobacco and whiskey, none of the bad. I liked the woody and earthy character. Aroma is tempting and pleasing. The strength was exactly what I would want for an all day snus. Will certainly order more. May become my go to so long as it's available. 

Was easy for me to hand bake. Only the second time I'd ever done so and it went together nicely and stayed together quite well.

Old World

I grew up on Copenhagen here in the USA. I have to say this snus has some very close overtones of Copenhagen with a finer grind. Very smooth and balanced. Highly recommended.

Definitely different

More of bourbon drinker than a straight whisky drinker, but I found myself really enjoying Mackmyra. Along with the tobacco, there's this sweet edge to the snus that I'm really liking. The sweetness kind of reminds me of dried fruit, thinking apricot, and it adds a lot of depth to the classic General recipe.
