Shiro #06 Sour Red Berry - Expert Review

Not too long ago, AG Snus’ Shiro line went through a big redesign. It was relaunched with new flavors, and a new look. I enjoy their Sour Lime flavor, so I was curious to check this one out and do a review. Shiro #06 Sour Red Berry Low is the lower strength version, which is 1 / 4 on their strength scale, or 3.6mg/pouch. However, if you want a stronger variant, they also produce an 8mg/g version of this one. Shiro has a wide mix of flavors in the range, but this is one of the more interesting ones!

Shiro #06 Sour Red Berry bottom can

Product Specifics:

Can Weight: 12.6 grams
Portion Format: Slim Nicotine Pouch
Portion Count: 21 pouches
Portion Weight: 0.6 grams each
Nicotine (Total mg/g): 6mg/g
Nicotine %: 0.6%
Nicotine (mg/Portion): 3.6mg/pouch

When you open the can, a tart, sour aroma of berry comes through. It’s a very interesting smell, and I like that it isn’t too sweet. The pouches are slim, with a soft feel to them and a decent amount of moisture. The flavor release is pretty soon after putting one in. The flavor is pretty interesting, and enjoyable. It’s a straightforward berry taste, but it has a nice tart presence to it. It is sour, as the name says, but it’s not so sour that it’s too much. It also isn’t overly sweet, so compared to others out there I find this approach refreshing.

In the strength, this one is a lighter one, at 3.6mg/pouch. I use mostly regular strength, so to me this is a lighter one. However, there are a lot of people out there who have lower strength cravings, so there is a market for this one. And as I mentioned, there is a stronger one if you want that. The flavor hangs out a decent amount of time, usually 35-45 minutes for me.

Wrap-Up & Recommendation:

The new Shiro line is pretty solid. It’s got a great quality to it, and a good mix of flavors and strengths. I’m more partial to the Sour Lime one, but this one is also pretty tasty. And of course if you like the standard flavors such as mint and licorice, they also have those available, too!

Snubie’s Opinion:

Nowadays, most nicotine pouches are mint. Or, they’re too sweet. This one I found to not be too sweet, and to have a pretty balanced, sour, tart flavor profile. Compared to a lot of the other stuff that is on the market today, this one really stands out as a unique and intriguing flavor. If you’re fed up with the average stuff and want something more unique, you may enjoy it.
