Thunder Dark Frost - Expert Review

Berries. Mint. Put them together, add in an extra strong nicotine kick, and what do you get? Thunder Dark Frost. Thunder has always been known for high strength snus, but now they’re setting out to bring that reputation to the world of nicotine pouches. Thunder has also always had a reputation for some of the best mint flavored snus products on the market, so it’s no surprise that their new nicotine pouch line will also have invigorating mint blends across a wide variety of flavor profiles. Blending mint, menthol, and berries isn’t a common flavor, but I think you’ll be pleasatly surprised when you experience Dark Frost. So, why don’t we dive on in and check out this product?

Thunder Dark Frost open can

Opening the can, a pretty present stab of menthol comes out as soon as I popped the top. Right behind it, a presence of berry comes through. It seems to be a mix of grape and blueberry. Under the lip, you’ll notice it has a cooling presence to it, like other mint products out there. It also has a slight tingle/burn to it, as well. The pouch material is soft, and has a pretty decent moisture amount to it. It’s moist, but not too moist. The flavor profile is pretty intriguing; honestly I’ve never had anything like it before. It is pretty heavily menthol, front and center. Right behind it a berry presence comes along. It seems to be mostly blueberry but it also reminds me a little of grape. In terms of strength, it packs quite a punch. Even though it’s only 13mg/pouch, the 5/5 on the can is pretty accurate. This one feels to deliver firmly at the extra strong level. The flavor also lasts quite a while, hanging out for up to about an hour.

Wrap-Up & Recommendation:

This is one of the most unique tasting nicotine pouches I’ve had before. There are fruity tasting ones. And there are minty ones. But I’ve never had one that seems to be a mix of grape, menthol, and blueberry. It really stands out. If you’re one who enjoys a strong nicotine kick and want a flavor that is unique, this is one that should catch your eye.

Snubie’s Opinion:

I’m not big fan of menthol. But I love blueberries, and I love grapes. I think the flavor profile on this one is definitely intriguing. You don’t see a combination like this very often. The berry taste on this one is quite solid, and yes, the menthol to me is a bit unnecessary, but I found the flavor profile to be pretty well rounded and approachable. I think people who are into this sort of thing would probably enjoy it.
