Thunder Frosted - Expert Review

For many, the product name “Thunder” is not unfamiliar. But also, the name “Thunder Frosted” may ring a few bells. Thunder has been associated with high nicotine snus for many years, and the Thunder Frosted product has been one of the most highly regarded in the snus world. But now, the Thunder brand is expanding to high-strength, invigorating nicotine pouches. As someone who used Thunder Frosted in my early days, I can tell you I was pretty interested and curious to check this one out when I heard that Thunder would now include a line of nicotine pouches. Spearmint is an incredible flavor, and I was most intrigued to see how the Thunder Frosted flavor would translate to a nicotine pouch product. Why don’t we find out more about this one?

Thunder Frosted snus was a favorite of mine back in the early days, so I was curious to see if this would be a clone of that in the nicotine pouch format. In the aroma, it is faintly familiar in that the spearmint is there, but it’s a very mild spearmint. I also notice a solid presence of menthol in the mix, as well. The pouches have a great fit in the lip and have a soft portion material with a moderate moisture amount. Being a mint product, you’ll encounter a cooling freshness when putting one under the lip. In the flavor profile, it seems to be pretty evenly balanced. I pick up the spearmint, and the menthol. Both come through in pretty even amounts. Neither are super overpowering, and come through in a gentle way. The strength on this one, even though it’s only 13mg/pouch, definitely feels to be at the 5/5 mark. It has a firm, extra strong kick to it. The flavor also lasts an impressive amount of time; up to about an hour on average.

Wrap-Up & Recommendation:

This one packs the familiar taste of spearmint, but brings in the addition of menthol to make it a bit more complex. It has the presence of the familiar Thunder Frosted, but with the addition of menthol it makes it a bit more fresh, and adds more cooling sensation to it. Mint lovers who are partial to menthol, or to spearmint, are going to really enjoy this one.

Snubie’s Opinion:

I’ve been a fan of Thunder Frosted for many years. It was one of my earliest loves in the world of mint snus. I’m more partial to spearmint flavors, so going into this one I was curious what I would think about it. While I’m not the biggest fan of menthol, I found it to not be too invasive or to really clash with the spearmint flavor. I think the approach of this one came across pretty well, and pretty even balanced.
