VELO Tropic Breeze - Expert Review

Back in 2014, a company in Sweden launched Epok. Over the course of several years, Epok evolved into Lyft, which became one of the most popular brands of nicotine pouches in the world. Recent numbers out of Sweden show that last year Lyft was one of the most popular brands on the market, even when put up with sales numbers from the snus category. In this review, we will check out VELOs Velo Tropic Breeze.

The past few years, BAT has begun rebranding the Lyft brand into Velo. The can I have for this review today is one of the intermediary cans from when Lyft began rebranding into Velo. I wanted to mention that before diving into the review, so if you see Lyft you’ll know that it is becoming Velo and most cans going out are properly branded as the new Velo product line. And yes, the new Velo line is the exact same as the old Lyft line, but with a new name. So, the product quality is the same as you have come to expect from Lyft.

Product Specifics:

Can Weight: 14.7 grams
Portion Format: Slim Nicotine Pouches
Portion Count: 21 pouches
Portion Weight: 0.7 grams each
Nicotine (Total mg/g): 8.57mg/g
Nicotine %: 0.857%
Nicotine (mg/Portion): 6mg/pouch

VELO Tropic Breeze Open Can

When you open the can, tropical aromas immediately jump out at you. I pick up mango, and some light citrusy tones. It has a little sweetness to it, but it’s not overdone by any means. The pouches are slim, with a soft feel and a moderate moisture amount. Under the lip they have a slim fit, and a soft portion material for a comfortable mouthfeel.

The flavor profile is tropical, and lightly sweet in nature. I pick up mostly a taste of mango, but subtle, semi-sweet notes of mandarine come through clearly. In the strength, it feels to be about regular strength. While a little below regular, it still has a steady delivery at about the regular strength mark. I find the flavor lasts about 40-45 minutes, on average.

Wrap-Up & Recommendation:

The Lyft line has long been regarded as the pinnacle of quality in the world of nicotine pouches. The new Velo line is the same thing, but with a different name. The Velo line comes in a wide range of flavors and strengths, so no matter where you fall, there’s something for everyone within this series!

Snubie’s Opinion:

I’ve always considered Lyft to be the top of the mountain for nicotine pouches. I’ve reviewed them all, and this one always comes back to me at #1. In terms of Velo products, this one is probably one of my favorites. I enjoy it in the summertime when the weather gets warm, but it’s also one you can use anytime of year. With this enjoyable tropical flavor, it’s definitely something I can see people enjoying.
