VOLT Frosted Apple - Expert Review

Years ago, Swedish Match launched a white tobacco product called G.4 FU:ZN. It has a mix of apple and spearmint. This was one I was quite the fan of! Sadly, it went away. However, over the past few years Swedish Match has launched a new line of nicotine pouches called VOLT with a wide mix of flavors and strengths. And one of the flavors they launched was that one, but in a tobacco-free nicotine pouch! This one, Frosted Apple, has the same great spearmint/apple flavor! Frosted Apple comes in two strengths, Strong 3/5 and Super Strong 5/5, which we are talking about today!

When I open the can, the aroma that comes through is quite lovely. I pick up a tart Granny Smith apple smell at first, and then gentle tones of mint and a light touch of vanilla. The pouches are slim, with a soft portion material. Under the lip they feel soft against the gum, and have a slim fit in the lip. Being a mint product, I encounter a gentle cooling presence when I put a pouch in.

The flavor is pretty smooth, and delicious. It is mostly apple, which reminds me a lot of tart, green, Granny Smith apples. The mint flavor is there, and compliments the apple quite nicely. It’s a smooth, sweet taste of spearmint! I pick up a very faint tone of vanilla underneath it all, but it doesn’t become too bold at any point.

The nicotine strength on this one feels a little above the strong level, and it packs a pretty solid kick to it. I find the flavor longevity quite satisfactory as well, lasting up to about 45 minutes, on average.

Wrap-Up & Recommendation:

The VOLT line is an impressive one. Swedish Match makes a high quality product, and you can tell with this one how true that is. In the Volt line you’ll find a wide mix of flavors, but this is one of the better ones. If you like mint, this twist on the traditional mint flavor is a must try!

I always loved this flavor in G.4. When it went away I was sad, but I find myself buying the Volt version from time to time to experience that flavor all over again. I may not use a lot of mint products, but when I do, I like them to be different. I like them to be unique. This one is certainly one of the most unique mint flavors on the market today!
