Originating in 1822 as Ljunglöf's No. 1, the brand has grown from loose snus to original portion and white portion. Today, we’re visiting the original portion version of Ettan. This snus is one of the most high quality, premium snus products on the market, and one of the standard-bearers in terms of traditional, tobacco flavored snus.

When you open the can, you’ll notice a present, earthy tobacco aroma. There’s a light smokiness to it, along with hints of chocolate. The portions are a thing of beauty. They’re plump, moist, and super soft in the lip. The flavor comes on quickly with this one, thanks to the moist pouch. The flavor on this one is a rich, present, earthy tobacco flavor. In the flavor profile you’ll find a little smokiness, but not too overdone. The chocolate taste is pretty present with this one, but it doesn’t overtake the tobacco flavor profile, nor is it to sweet. It is on the darker side, in terms of chocolate tastes.

This one delivers nicotine in a steady way and arrives at the regular strength range. Being an original portion, the flavor lasts between 45 to 50 minutes on average.

This is a product I am not the biggest fan of, nor is it one I use often. Wait, don’t click away yet. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad snus. It’s a very high quality, premium snus. And I do use Ettan Snus. But for me, I prefer Ettan White. I think Ettan White is the best variant in the Ettan Snus series, because it is more mild, balanced, and has less of a chocolatey flavor. Howver, most I know prefer Ettan Original or Ettan Lös. My suggestion? Try them all out. You never know which one may be your favorite. While this particular one may not be my favorite, it is one of the most popular snus products out there. I just think Ettan White is a better version of this flavor.
