G.3 Extra Strong Slim White - Expert Review

The G.3 line represented a new era of snus. It was launched to introduce the “third generation” of General Snus. The first generation being the loose version, the second generation being the portion format, and the third generation being this new version. The third generation has slim portions, less drip, a softer fit, higher nicotine levels, and longer lasting flavors. The G.3 line as a whole has a wide variety of flavors and variants, but also includes the General flavor in an assortment of formats as well. Today, we’re talking about the Extra Strong version in the slim white portion format.

Opening the can, you’ll notice the classic aroma of General Snus. The bergamot citrus aroma comes through clearly, along with a peppery tobacco base. The slim white portions have a soft portion material, and a great fit under the lip and soft feel against the gum. Being a white portion, the flavor develops slower, and comes across in a milder way than an original portion snus.

The taste is the classic, traditional taste of Swedish Snus! The bergamot flavor is front and center, and has a tea-like quality to it. The tobacco character is robust, well rounded, and peppery. I notice a semi-hay like presence to it, as well. In terms of strength, this one feels to be between strong and extra strong. It has a nice kick to it, but it isn’t too overbearing. The flavor lasts quite a while, up to, and sometimes past, the one hour mark.

General is the most highly regarded snus in the world of Swedish Snus. It is the traditional, classic taste that most associate with the flavor of Swedish Snus. The G.3 line brings that flavor profile with an extra strong kick and comfortable slim portions. If you like the taste of General but want to try a new format, you may enjoy the G.3 line.

Snubie’s Opinion:

General is my favorite snus. I like that the brand comes in a wide variety of formats, so there is something for everyone in the General series. I personally prefer the regular strength XRANGE slim white or slim original, but in the G.3 series I think the Slim Strong Original Portion is the best variant. If you’re one who likes higher strengths, though, you may find yourself enjoying this one!
