Each year sees the arrival of a new, unique Kardus edition that has been produced in collaboration with different master blenders. The year 2019 welcomed the delicious Göteborg’s Rape Kardus Winter 2019 to the world with open arms. The flavour will make any Swede think of Sweden with its unique notes of juniper, lavender and strings of coniferous Swedish woods along with herbs and dried fruits. The tobacco character is of the robust medium dark kind that works like a charm together with the woody base.
Why Göteborg’s Rape? Well, 2019 marks the 100th year since Göteborg’s Rape received its recognition as a brand and what better way to celebrate this than to have it represent Kardus! The glass container for this product has been handblown by the Orrefors team whom are truly representatives of Sweden’s glass industry. Each container is therefore completely unique! The number of cans available is very limited – there are only 1050 of these in total. The design of each container is reminiscent of Rapé’s typical colour scheme, with the blue base and golden lids. Apparently, the blue colour represents the colour of the sea, as Göteborg’s Rapé was born at the harbour of Gothenburg city!
That Swedish Match know their way around snus is already a well-established fact. But when it comes to the Kardus editions there are always more minds at work, which makes it a very interesting experience! Here, Swedish chef Stefan Karlsson and the master blender Lars Öberg have put together their enormous set of skills to create the perfect experience, portioned into a sleek, blue glass container.
