Lundgren’s Skåne White - Expert Review

When the Lundgren’s brand launched several years ago, it showed a lot of promise. It was a new brand when new brands weren’t common, and it offered high quality snus products at a decent price. Over the past several years, the brand has grown in number, and in popularity, to become one of the most popular snus brands. Lundgren’s Skåne is arguably their most popular product. It was one of the first, and now has several variants including White, Slim White, and White Stark. Today, we’re talking about the classic, perforated white portion version: Lundgren’s Skåne White.

When you open the can, one thing you’ll notice is that the pouches are perforated, meaning they have little holes in them. This is a way to allow a faster release of flavor. They feel like regular white portions for the most part, however I’ve found if I use them too much, or exclusively, they can irritate my gum a little. But, with Lundgren’s, I use it as an occasional snus, which doesn’t seem to cause any irritation.

The aroma of this one is quite nice. It’s a very outdoorsy snus, in my opinion. I pick up an aroma of spruce, and a simple tobacco character. The berry character isn’t a super sweet berry taste, but comes through as a milder, darker berry. It’s a very interesting aroma!

Under the lip, the portion fits nicely in the lip, and has a pretty quick release of flavor. The perforated pouch helps facilitate the taste coming on sooner than your average white portion. In the flavor profile, it’s a very well rounded taste. Like the aroma: spruce, tobacco, berry. The tobacco base is earthy, but simple. It isn’t too obtrusive, and pairs well with the spruce character I notice in the flavor profile. The berry character isn’t an overpowering one, and I find the darker nature compliments the other components in the taste.

This one has a pretty solid strength to it, with a steady delivery at the regular strength level. Like with most white portions, the flavor lasts a good amount of time, usually around the hour mark. So, with the perforated pouch, you get a quicker flavor release, but due to the white portion format, you also get a long lasting flavor.

Skåne is one of the most popular products in the Lundgren’s brand, and is highly regarded by snusers. The Lundgren’s brand is high quality, and premium, and comes at a decent price. In strength and flavor you get a steady and enjoyable experience that lasts. The perforated pouch may not work for everyone, but in that event there is also a standard slim white version of this flavor that is just as enjoyable.

Snubie’s Opinion:

I’ve always enjoyed this one. As an outdoorsman, this is a snus that has a flavor I enjoy when I’m outside, or in the woods. Personally, I prefer the slim white portion version, as I find the perforated version to be a bit much for my gums. I could use this one from time to time, but I find I can use the slim white version much more often. But, you may like this one more, so I suggest grabbing a can of each to see which one is your favorite!
