Göteborgs Rapé Lingonberry - Expert Review

This is an interesting snus. About 13 years ago when I first discovered Swedish Snus, one of the first products I tried was Göteborgs Rapé White Portion. For some reason, I didn’t really enjoy it. However, when I tried Göteborgs Rapé Lingon, I loved it! I used this snus a lot in the early days, but now I use the regular GR more often. But, this has always been a special snus for me. It’s one that I think is quite underrated, because I don’t hear it discussed as often as it should be in the snus community. If you’re an American and reading this and don’t know what lingonberry is, go to your local IHOP and get some Swedish Crepes. They’re delicious. Now, on to the review!

When you open the can, the tart aroma of lingonberry greets you. It comes across in a mild way, balanced quite well with subtle floral notes and a mild tobacco character. The portions come in the Star Formation, so I suggest rolling the wedge-shaped pouches around in your finger to fluff them up before inserting them under your lip. The portion material is soft, and feels comfortable in the lip. In the flavor profile, it’s quite tasty, and well balanced. The lingonberry flavor is natural, tart, and very lightly sweet. There is a subtle, earthy base tobacco taste along with light flowery notes. This one has a regular nicotine strength, that delivers in a steady, stable way. I find the flavor to last about an hour, sometimes a little more.

This is a criminally underrated snus. In the world of fruit flavored snuses, this one stands apart as one of the better available ones. If you’ve never had it before, you owe it to yourself to check this one out. Lingonberry is a very unique, but quite Swedish flavor, so this is a snus that all fans of Swedish Snus should try out!

I’ve been a fan of this one since I first started snusing. So you know I’m already going to suggest this one. It’s a tasty snus. I dig the lingonberry flavor on this one, and it’s a snus I’ll reach for on occasion when I get a craving for it. If you’ve never had it before, you owe it to yourself to try it!
