Inspired from the United States with the clear taste of sweet cherries and almond. Nick & Johnny Americana is an extra strong snus with a nicotine level of 1.5%, which is equivalent to 15 mg/g. It was previously known as Captain Yankee but later changed name, design and recipe/portion format. This snus has an exciting and unique mix of flavors, it has a balanced full-bodied spicy tobacco taste with hits of violet, wintergreen, raspberries and the overall flavor of almond together with sweet cherries.

The name Nick and Johnny Americana refers to the American inspired design and taste, with colorful labeling on the can, representing the American flag, and a unique flavor combination. The full sized portions are quite moist on the surface which results in a quick and strong nicotine and flavor release.

Today the Nick and Johnny family consist of several different products. All with different flavors and versions. Mutual for all is that they are stronger, either Strong or Extra strong, compared to traditional snus they are only available as large portion snus.

Simply put - Wow

I really did not know what to expect with this one, because "Americana" is just not very descriptive. I am really a simple wintergreen guy and like a once in a while treat, but the sweetness in this flavor is perfect. Nic is a little much for later in the day so it's a perfect breakfast with coffee snus. Very happy I bought a roll.

Great Taste, Juicy Portions

This is a very enjoyable snus that tastes like Dr. Pepper. Cherry forward with hints of vanilla and some other berries mixed with the tobacco gives it a very pleasant flavor. The bags are fairly large and rough, but the flavor and nicotine hit offset any issues with the bag. These are not white portions, so they tend to get fairly juicy and aren't really going to work for endurance amounts of time. As mentioned, the nicotine hit is almost perfect, strong enough to get a nice hit but not too strong. A great dessert snus or a nice treat, but probably not a daily driver. The graphics on the can are nice also. Would def recommend to anyone who likes tobacco snus and sweet, sweet adventure. A-

This snus is perfect

If I was tasked with creating the perfect snus Americana is the snus I would come up with. Sweet and heavy cherry flavors are to be found in this gem. The perfect snus.

Interesting

Not quite what I expected going in from reading other reviews. To me it was very raspberry forward.  The taste was a new experience.  A once in awhile treat.

Re-review

My previous review of this product was less than favorable. It’s been about a year, so I thought I’d give it another try. Glad I did, because I actually like it now. It’s a nice change up from straight tobacco flavors. Variety is the spice of life, and this snus is definitely spicy. Nicotine hit is perfect too.

Just What the Doctor Ordered

If Dr. Pepper was a snus this would be it! I simply love this Snus. The portions are large, plump and soft. The drip is perfect, not sloppy, just juicy goodness. This is a sweet snus. Consider yourself warned. I can’t imagine using it all day everyday. I like to save it for a couple of times a day when I really want a pick me up. It’s got a great kick if you normally stick with regular or strong portions. I typically use  8-14mg portions  and this one packs a enough of an extra punch I can definitely feel it. What a nice treat. It’s like dessert. I’ll definitely be throwing a few cans of this in the cart each time I order.

What's great about N&J?

I'll tell you what's great about N&J....the stronger portions more closely resemble a regular American dip from say a Copenhagen in strength. If you're like me, coming from dip, it's hard to get by with one portion of regular strength say...General. I still love it, but it's not the same kick. N&J fills that niche with 1 portion, and the flavor, well, I can't say anything about Americana that hasn't been said already. It's just fantastic.

Cherry Bomb!

First of all, I just wanted to mention how much I love Americana's can design. The black label on a white can, the red, white and blue lettering and different fonts make for a striking design that, while invoking America, really feels more like a Scandinavian love letter to America. Which is better.

It's also what this snus is. I don't pick up any notes of wintergreen or violet. Or even tobacco. It's just artificial cherries all the way down and I love it. This snus tastes like the good cherry cough drops. Big, fat portions hit hard and give a pretty strong burn under the lip. These are great after a meal.

love the spicy cherry

I'd describe the flavor of this as a cherry pie with the seasonings of an apple pie. I'm honestly infatuated with this flavor and I wish I had more of it. Strength is a little much for me, but I can handle it for such awesome taste.
